With new Brisbane Roar Head Coach Robbie Fowler observing from the stands, interim boss, Darren Davies, wants his side to seize the opportunity to impress the incoming Liverpool legend in today’s ANZAC Day match against Adelaide United.
Roar will also be trying to send the retiring Matt McKay and departing Henrique out on a high.
Davies said: “There’s a number of boys who will be playing their last game for the club. That’s the nature of football.
“But the opportunity is there for tomorrow.
“The boss is here, and it’s the last opportunity for them to go out and make an impression.”
Fowler was introduced to Brisbane players at training yesterday.
“The football experience that he brings is phenomenal,” Davies said.
“It’s a fantastic appointment, not just for Brisbane Roar but for the A-League as well.
“Now we can start to plan forward and getting back to where we should be.”
